Ms. Georgia Mae Fields

December 15, 1934 - February 6, 2022

Georgia Mae Fields, 307 Dyer Street, was born on December 15, 1934, and went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2022. She was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee, and a graduate of Langston High School. She was the daughter of the late George and Willie Mae Anderson. She worked at Port Chester Nursing Home in New York City, where she retired after 40 years of service. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing bingo, and singing in the church choir. Georgia is preceded in death by her husband, Colden David Fields, and her uncle and aunt, Raspberry and Elizabeth Young, who raised her and her sisters after the passing of their parents. Survivors include her son, Paul Davis (Johnson City); sisters, Josephine Anderson (Knoxville), and Mary Anderson (Johnson City); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday, February 11, 2022, at 12:30 pm from Birchette Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:30 pm. Entombment will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens.
