Sharon Foster

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Sharon D. Foster, age 66, lovingly known as Sharon Ann or Momma Foster went to rejoice among the heavenly angels and her Lord on Saturday December 9, 2017. She was surrounded at home by her family after battling a courageous fight with cancer. A native of Dante, VA she was the daughter of the late William H. Adams Jr. and Kathryn M. Adams. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her baby brother David Allen Adams. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved to go shopping, loved cooking, and spending time with her family. She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. Those left to cherish her memory include: her loving husband of 42 years, Anthony Wayne; her beloved daughter Rochelle Denise; brothers, Lawrence (Sharon) Adams, William "Bones" (Barbara) Adams, all of Johnson City, TN; Ruben Adams, Bronx, NY; Charles "Doc" (Linda) Adams, Lebanon, VA; and Paul M (Carolyn) Adams, Richmond, VA; sister, Thelma (Don) Williams, Albany, NY; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, special friends Ruth House, Elizabeth Gibbs, Claudette Cain; and godchildren Jayden Patton-Price, Naariah L. Patton, and Shelby E. Hankins. The family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the staff of JCMC Radiation Oncology, Jennifer Norton and the staff of Regional Cancer Center of Johnson City, Cynthia Davis with the American Cancer Society, and Amedisys Hospice nurses Vanessa and Teresa. We would also like to thank the unwavering love and support from Thankful Baptist Church, Gray United Methodist Church, and Morning Star Full Gospel Church. Last but certainly not least, Anthony and Rochelle would like to personally send heartfelt thanks to Sharon's sister in law, Barbara for being such an outstanding caregiver. Sharon Ann / Momma Foster is already greatly missed, but we find comfort in knowing that we will see her again! Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday December 16, 2017 at Thankful Baptist Church in Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 12:30pm at the church prior to the services. Interment will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City, TN.
